Ancient Monarchs of Destruction They Were the Most Terrifying Things in Existence Before Jinwoo. Villains, and the Monarchs! In the Solo Leveling manga, hunters fight monsters, S-rank hunters protect entire nations, and National Level Hunters are the last remaining defence against the Monarchs but are not monstrosities that can be classified as a level or combated by an armed force. The Monarchs are all destructive forces since their creation by the Absolute Being, ancient Kings that emerged from chaos and darkness, made for one thing only, to Destroy everything. There are a total of nine Monarchs, each of which has an entire territory to itself, and armies composed of monsters to do their bidding, along with an immense amount of power to be able to destroy a city in one blow, at least. They are all important aspects to Sung Jinwoo’s story as they are listed below along with descriptions of who and what they are and why their existence matters to Sung Jinwoo’s story. what is the reason that the Monarchs exist? The origin of the Monarchs.First, let’s examine some of the people, and then we can see how they tie into the overall Story.

There was only the Supreme Being that exists as God over this Universe. The light was split to make the Rulers who were created to keep the World. The darkness was split to make the Monarchs who would destroy the World. The two sides of a single cosmic coin were in an eternal battle.Monarchs are without their bodies in our natural world. For them to travel here, they need the body of a live individual in which to reside. If their container is damaged or lost, they will not have access to their power. That is pretty much their only limitation, and even with this restriction, they have almost completely destroyed humans on several occasions. Therefore, let’s get to know them.

1. Antares, Monarch of Destruction | Dragon King 🐉 : He is the most powerful one. He is also the eldest among all the monarchs and is, therefore, greatly dreaded by all.The one name to give any Monarch chills would be Antares. The most powerful Monarch in existence, the King of Dragons, was the endgame boss of the whole Solo Leveling storyline and the one opponent that pushed Sung Jinwoo to his breaking point.Antares change into his human from or his dragon form at his will, whatever and whenever he wants.

The signature of his abilities, the so-called “Dragon’s Fear” is basically a wave of overwhelming killing intent can crush even S-Rank hunters from just feeling it. The Breath of Destruction can wipe out an entire city in a few seconds of time. He exceeds the speed of light. He exceeds the speed of light, he has almost nothing in terms of stamina and he can regenerate himself in a way that makes it almost impossible for others to get rid of him. In addition, he also can render out the ability of his opponents to regenerate, which makes him pretty much the worst possible matchup for the majority of beings.Antares was so terrifying, that even the Shadow Monarch, Ashborn, felt fear towards him. This alone says a lot. Antares was the last wall that Jinwoo had to break and almost made him lose everything.

2. The Ashborn — Monarch of Shadows : He walked a completely new way.He was not born to rule, was not a Monarch to begin with. He was the most powerful Ruler “”the “Greatest Fragment of Brilliant Light” once. Ashborn turned his back on everyone when they betrayed the absolute being, killed it and betrayed it. After all this happened he turned into the Shadow Monarch, a being of such great power that Antares was scared of him.His capabilities represent the base of what Sung Jinwoo turns into with time. These are Shadow Extraction, Shadow Preservation, Shadow Exchange, Monarch’s Domain, and Ruler’s Authority.

His army of Shadows is almost impossible to kill as these are combatants drawn from the dead and given eternal servitude. He has previously killed Baran and Legia so simply. But, Ashborn’s biggest contribution was non combative. That was when he selected Jinwoo as his vessel. His intentions in choosing Jinwoo were to provide mankind a fair shake at attaining peace and ending cycles of war. Due to its above actions, in addition to his foresight and knowledge, Ashborn is undoubtedly one of the most important characters in the Solo Leveling story.

3. Baran -King of The White Fire, and King of The Demons : He was proud, he was powerful, he refused to run.In terms of raw power, Baran is considered to be at the very top of the stacks amongst the Monarchs as he is their king. His Force consists of Demons. He is a very high-level being that uses lightning/fire (white-hot hellfire) to attack. Baran is also one of very few Monarchs who stood up to Ashborn even though he knew he would lose.

When the rulers slew the absolute Being, both Baran and Rakan attacked Ashborn. Rakan, being a coward, ran away immediately after the battle got out of control. Baran did not run away but stood and fought in the battle. As a result of the poor decision of Baran, he died in that battle. Therefore, while Rakan and Baran fought Ashborn when the Rulers killed the Absolute Being, Rakan fled when the fight got dangerous, but Baran stayed and fought and thus died. The defiant act, though unsuccessful represents a tragic honor for Baran as compared with another Monarch’s.In the manhwa, Jinwoo fights against a duplicate of the Demon Baran’s true self as the 100th floor Demon Castle Boss. Despite being only an imitation, Baran proves very powerful indeed, yet in the comparison to his true self, Baran is in another league altogether.

4. Sillad, the Monarch of Ice : The Snow People’s King Cold calculating and almost killed Jinwoo before he was ready! I believe Sillad was the biggest mistake Jinwoo made in the entire series for what he did to him. Not only is Sillad an insanely powerful Monarch, but he also has the courage and the balls to face the Shadow Monarch head on! His powers over ice are also completely devastating.Sillad possesses the power to completely freeze a city at once with Absolute Zero. Sillad’s Sleep Magic (used on Go Gunhee, the Chairman of the Korean Hunters Association, creating one of the most gut-wrenching moments in the series). can place a target into a state of eternal sleep.

Sillad can also create massive Ice Golems and commands cold temperatures to a level where traditional weapons would have no effect on them. Both Rakan and he caused Jinwoo to reach his breaking point. Rapidly, the shadow monarch powers of Jinwoo became fully released due to his desperation. Sillad’s attacks made Jinwoo have that much more power, as Jinwoo ultimately became very powerful.

5. Rakan — Monarch of Fangs | King of Beasts 🐺 : While he fights very fiercely, he still remains very cowardly.Rakan is one of the more amazing Monarchs due to the contradictions that make up his existence. In combat, he demonstrates tremendous power; he can transform into a giant white werewolf through spiritual manifestation, he can move things on the battlefield through telekinesis and devastate his opponents with it, as well as heal from wounds that would normally be fatal to other beings.

Basically, his sheer physicality means that he possesses monstrous levels of strength.Rakan is very cowardly. Rakan joins Baran to battle Ashborn; he senses the dangers surrounding them and runs away, leaving Baran to battle alone and die. Rakan joins forces with the other Monarchs to fight Christopher Reed (the National level Hunter) at a time when Reed is completely outnumbered by the Monarchs. Rakan only attacks his enemies when their defeat is completely assured and runs away if their defeat is not assured. The combination of these two aspects from opposite ends of the spectrum literally make Rakan a fantastic Monarch.

6 Querehsha, the Plagues Monarch, and Insect Queen : She is bloodthirsty, venomous and completely amoral.Querehsha is the single female Monarch, and she exhibits all of the characteristics of her male counterparts associated with intimidation. Querehsha is the Queen of Insects and possesses the capability to command insect-type minions along with an extensive arsenal of biological weapons that would most combatants find revolting to use. Additionally, she possesses the ability to secrete venom from her body, create glowing entities of mana, and practice Necromancy. She participated significantly in the killing of Christopher Reed, together with Rakan and Tarnak, being three Monarchs against one hunter, yet Reed made them fight to kill him, it shows the quality of the fighter she engaged in combat with.

Querehsha’s level of aggression, or thirst for blood, comes legitimately since she likes killing, and she does so clearly and openly. Jinwoo later kills Querehsha with his mutilation skill after strategically attacking her Mutilation skill before she can reach her full potential.

7. Tarnak – Monarch of Iron Body (the King of Monstrous Humanoids) : He is the Living Tank (nearly indestructible and highly underappreciated). Fans don’t often discuss Tarnak, but his durability is the stuff nightmares are made of. Tarnak, being the King of Monstrous Humanoids, has a physical form that functions as a fortress. He has the ability to manipulate dimensions and travel through dimensional rifts. He also possesses high levels of martial arts skill, regeneration abilities, and the ability to move at hypersonic speeds.

He was in the group that killed Christopher Reed and who fought Thomas Andre later on. Not only did he pose an actual threat to Hunters who were at the national level, but he also posed a real danger in general. Although he was finally suppressed by Jinwoo’s shadow force, he made them struggle for their victory. The initial Monarch to be met.

8. Legia – Monarch of Beginning | King of the Giants : We see him as the saddest of all the Monarchs. The Rulers took Legia prisoner, placed mana-absorbing shackles on him, inserted an essence stone into the back of his neck to make him want to kill humans, and used his body to provide Earth with mana.He basically was imprisoned in such a way so that he could be used to destroy the world he was created to destroy.

The last thing he tried to do was trick Jinwoo after they met in Japan. But this did not work at all, because Jinwoo ended up killing him. However, out of all the other Monarchs, the death of Legia has its own complexity, due to the fact that, in his last moments before dying, he was no longer a villain.

9. Yogumunt – Monarch of Metamorphosis | King of the Demonic Spectres 👻 : The Puppeteer, strong theoretically but never fully utilized ever.Yogumunt is considered the most enigmatic of all the Monarchs, depicted as a floating ancient elder who manipulates rather than fights. It was Yogumunt who told Antares that Ashborn had betrayed him, which served as a turning point in the war’s overall history. The absence of the ideal host presented a disadvantage to Yogumunt, as he therefore could not tap fully into his power for maximum potential release.

In the end, Jinwoo’s shadow army took this guy down, and fast! But even though he was the guy who told everyone what was happening at the end of the battle, he should not be dismissed as the one who got the fight going in the first place. The Monarchs’ LegacyMonarchs, these villains are very horrifying monsters in the World of Solo Leveling. They do not only provide the intense action but rather are existential threats. Additionally, they are old monsters and have been involved in destroying civilization since adam (the 1st man according to the Bible). Their battles with Rulers have been using the earth to fight each other without seeking the inhabitants’ consent, earth humans.Through Ashborn’s decision to put his faith in what was originally thought to be the weakest hunter from South Korea, the cycles were ultimately brought to an end. The Monarchs lost because of the actions of a single individual who chose not to stop growing. The Monarchs did not lose because an army or a government or a weapon defeated them. This is the true essence of Solo Leveling.
