If we talk about the most iconic anime in the world which was awarded the Global Impact Anime Award, we all can recall Attack on Titan “Shingeki no Kyojin” by Hajime Isamaya. We can also say that Eren Yeager manipulated Hajime Isamaya to create Attack on Titan. Attack on Titan is a dark fantasy, intense action & post apocalyptic shonen anime. This Anime isn’t about the story of survival of humans against a giant which is called Titan, it’s a story where Hajime shows Human Psychology, sociology, politics, their fear, morality & craving for Freedom. This incident is one of the reasons which made us understand the true face of humanity. Today we talk about how these Titan forms originated and also try to find out their history, power & ability and also the Curse of Ymir. Here’s the breakdown of Nine Titan forms.
A brief story of Ymir :
If we talk about Titans we can not ignore Ymir Fritz. Her story is one of the tragic stories and also the foundation of the Main storyline in AOT. 2000 years before the main events Ymir was the servant of the Eldian king , King Fritz. One day she opened the gate of a pig farm and all the pigs escaped away. When the King asked everyone who had opened the gate 13 people pointed out Ymir , after this incident, the king gave orders to his knights and they started hunting of Ymir. Suddenly Ymir fell into water from a hole in a tree and she came into contact with a mysterious creature ,a supernatural entity often called as the source of all living matter named Hallucigenia.

After this encounter changed her completely and gave her immense power & she converted into the first Titan. With her ability she didn’t snatch the freedom but she again became the slave of the king and helped him to conquer war and God like strength. This move proved ymir’s love towards King Fritz. After her death her power didn’t vanish, instead the king wanted to push this power over generations through his three daughters Rose, Maria, Sina. The king forced his three daughters to consume ymir remains to continue this power in their bloodline. Eventually, from this Event Ymir’s ability and power split into three parts and later it’s further divided into individual Nine Titan. After Ymir’s death she found herself in path & continued her slavery so that’s why she created nine forms of Titan with sand in the Path using her hand . That is the reason Eldia got their Nine Titan forms.

1. Founding Titan : The very first Titan is founding Titan. It is considered as the mother of all Titan. First time it originated from Ymir Fritz.After Ymir the Founding Titan was passing through the Royal Family like Karl Fritz, Uri Reiss, Frieda Reiss, later inherited by Grisha Yeager who destitute the cycle and Eren manipulated Grisha his father ultimately Eren Yeager got Founding Titan Power. It’s the best Titan form among all the nine forms. It comes with a condition that only Royal blood can use this Titan Power but if inheritor isn’t from Royal blood he can also utilise those powers with the help of Royal blood which we can see where Eren touch Dina Fritz Titan form and later he can control all the Titans.
Pros & cons : This Titan can control all the Titans and the inheritor can communicate with the subject of Ymir’s through High Dimensions as known as Path. But it also has a disadvantage that only Royal blood can access the full potential of the Titan form.
2. Attack Titan : If we consider most balanced power & most iconic Titan forms among the nine titans we can easily consider Attack Titan.This Titan was possessed by Eren Kruger a Marley public security officer and he also secretly led Eldians restoration named The Owl. When Zeke betrayed his Father and Mother, At this point Eren Kruger passed his Attack Titan to Grisha to ensure continuation of restoring Eldia. At the 845 in Shiganshina District Eren got Attack Titan. This Titan is 15 meters tall. It did not depend on a single overpower trait like armor or size instead it can throw raw combat making it most dangerous in long fights.
Pros & cons : This Titan form is strong and durable in hand to hand fights with other Titan but It’s not too effective with female Titan. This Titan can easily adapt fighting style especially when it’s combined with experience . This Titan can access the memories of both past and future inheritors of Attack Titan also Attack Titan represents rebellion nature seeking of faith & freedom . But this titan has no special defensive Ability , limited in physical ability depending on the user.
3. War Hammer Titan : If you have been an AOT fan for a long time you would know how everyone was to see the War Hammer Titan , the War Hammer Titan is one of most unique among all the Nine Titan Forms. After the Great Titan War it was passed to the Tybur family for generation by generation & the last inheritor we know is Lara Tybur. When Eren Yeager and his friend attacked Marley he snatched that power from Lara and became the next War Hammer Titan. It’s approx 15 meters long with a massive structural hardening ability.
Pros & Cons : War Hammer Titan’s Main power is It can harden his body and make different types of weapons which the inheritor wanted to design. It means the inheritor can generate any weapon using the hardening Titan flesh. This Titan form has a unique ability. Its user can control this Titan from a long distance and it is connected through a cord. Also this Titan generates its full body from its cord . All this stuff allowed her for a wide range combat style & constructing defensive barriers. But the main problem comes when it uses Extremely High Stamina which creates a huge amount of energy drain. Also if the user gets exposed, any Titan can kill the user easily.
The world of the Nine Titans is none other than a collection of Powerful forms of monster. History which is written in blood , sacrifice and inherited destiny.
